Digital Construction & BIM Workshop @ NECA HOUSE
Jun 24 @ 9:00 am – Jun 28 @ 5:00 pm
Digital Construction & BIM Workshop @ NECA HOUSE

The architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry not only lags behind manufacturing, healthcare and banking when it comes to digital transformation, it is the second least digitised industry, only marginally better than Agriculture and Hunting. Fortunately, the situation is improving. The global AEC industry is in a state of flux and the opportunities are boundless as we witness seismic changes with new processes like building information modelling (BIM) linking up with existing systems like GIS, Offsite Construction and Virtual Reality.

Where do you start your digital transformation journey from? Which software should you invest in? What are the standards, tools or workflows required to move into the digital era while maintaining legacy systems? How do you carry your clients and project partners along?

The Digital Construction and BIM Workshop is taking place in Lagos from June 24 to 28, 2019. The workshop promises an extensive exploration of Building Information Modelling (Processes, Tools, Standards) and hands-on application to Construction projects.

Scholars and thought leaders including Dr. Zulfilkar Adamu of London South Bank University, Prof. Martins Tuuli of GIMPA, Ghana, Geoff Hodgson of Loughborough University, Mrs Kudirat Ayinla of Birmingham City University and many others would be facilitating various sessions during the workshop. The workshop also features a BIM Clinic scheduled for Day 4 and Day 5 where participants can benefit from instant feedback on ongoing or planned projects.

Ghana Digital Construction Expo 2019 @ Atlantic Computers
Nov 29 @ 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Ghana Digital Construction Expo 2019 @ Atlantic Computers

Digital Construction and Building Information Modelling (BIM) has taken the global construction industry by storm as experienced in the US, Europe, Middle East and Asia. A key driver can be attributed to the increasing demand by governments and private sector organizations in the major economies across the globe to deliver increased efficiencies and productivity in the construction sector. However, inadequate awareness among stakeholders in most African countries is a major challenge and has led to the slow-pace or non-existent BIM adoption within the African continent.

The half-day event has been carefully crafted to facilitate discussions amongst Construction professional and stakeholders towards creating greater awareness and adoption of BIM within the Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Operations (AECO) industry in Ghana. The audience for the event would include Senior Representatives from the Public and Private Sectors, Regulatory and Professional Bodies, Construction and consultancy firm, Academia, and NGOs.

The event is organised in partnership with Atlantic Group, Ghana. Participation is strictly by registration. Register free here.

5th Building Information Modeling Africa Conference @ Johannesburg, South Africa
Mar 11 @ 9:00 am – Mar 13 @ 5:00 pm
5th Building Information Modeling Africa Conference @ Johannesburg, South Africa

Rolling out BIM and Industry 4.0 in Africa starts now.
Industry 4.0 is here and the need to understand cyber-physical systems is imperative. Digital data and technology are internationally becoming a part of the standard measures used to enhance design, build and maintain assets. Some projects are shifting from information modelling to information management and analysis, with technologies such as wireless sensors, real-time tracking software and data fusion bringing in innovative ways of operating as the construction sector embraces Industry 4.0.

But what are the latest opportunities that BIM brings to the industry? How can you make the most these? What potential does virtual planning and realization offer for the industry?

At the 5th Building Information Modeling Africa 2020 conference, subject matter experts will answer any questions and show how professional BIM projects can be strategically managed. They will discuss solutions for the complete construction value chain, bringing together the right mix of people to drill down on topics such as the digitisation of construction processes in an effort to increase the quality and efficiency of the African construction industry. There will be something for everyone as there will be showcase on how BIM addresses construction needs, the collaboration between organizations, professionals and industry stakeholders. Participants involved in planning, construction, production and operations can look forward to case studies that illustrate how digital modelling continues to improve efficiency in the construction industry. Embracing BIM has become a catalyst for change and it delivers a compelling case to the digitised sector when coupled with web-friendly computer-readable data.

Amidst other experts, the Executive Director of BIM Africa would be discussing on “The Digital Construction Assistant of the future”. The 5th Building Information Modelling Africa Conference 2020 is not to be missed.

Apr 23 @ 8:00 am – Apr 24 @ 5:00 pm
CAP Forum Africa 2020 @ Cassablanca, Morocco

The construction sector is one of the major contributors to the African economy & one of its fastest-growing sectors. Morocco’s construction industry is set to perform relatively well over the forecast- period (2020–2025), compared to the review period (2015–2019). The industry’s growth over the forecast period will be driven by investment in infrastructure, energy and residential construction projects.

Construction activity in recent years has been driven by several factors, including purpose-built cities, industrial zones and rising demand for housing, but investment in public infrastructure, particularly transport, has been a primary engine.

This event is the ideal opportunity to get involved in Africa’s booming construction industry to access major developers, architects & consultants from the region. CAP FORUM Africa 2020 is being organized by Fixture Global.

CAP FORUM is an exclusive platform that will focus on a range of topic areas from construction regulation, major projects & upcoming contracts to sustainable building & the latest construction technology.
