In the heart of Nairobi, at the prestigious Sarit Expo Centre, from November 8 to 10, 2023, this year’s Big 5 Construct Kenya 2023 was yet another successful event. Since its inception, The Big 5 Construct Kenya has played a pivotal role in bringing together the construction community, establishing a centralized hub for business opportunities and networking.
The event featured a plethora of global products and state-of-the-art technologies, exhibitions and CPD-certified sessions included in the Industry Talks. As part of the CPD-certified Technology Talks, BIM Africa hosted sessions delving into various aspects of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and its significance in the Construction Industry.
Distinguished speakers, such as Brian Boit, a Volunteer Graduate Architect at the esteemed National Museums of Kenya, shared illuminating perspectives on “Digital Technologies in Heritage Conservation.” Clifford Okembo, the erudite Director/Senior Consultant at Clifford Geo-Consult Ltd, lent his expertise to expound on “Integrating GIS and BIM for Modern Construction.”
A captivating panel session, skillfully moderated by Linda Akoth, Assistant Structural Engineer and Research Assistant at The Technical University of Kenya, unfolded with the theme “Building the Future: Technology Trends in Kenyan Construction.” The panel comprised luminaries such as Clifford Okembo, Arch. Brian Babu Kariuki, Director & Founder of ARQI Solutions LTD, and Arthur Omondi Otieno, Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor at MACEYMR.
This confluence of minds and ideas not only enriched the understanding of workshop participants regarding BIM and digital technologies but also served as a testament to our commitment to advocate the future of construction across Africa.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the resource persons and participants who played a vital role in making The Big 5 Construct Kenya 2023 a success.
