The year 2020 came with a lot of disruptions. Despite the tough challenges, some people displayed resilience and grit to share knowledge with our community and ensure our sustained intellectual growth. We appreciate them all for their immense contributions.
With the understanding of the effect of geographic exclusion on accessibility to learning and knowledge acquisition, #BIMTalk is a periodic learning-based virtual program dedicated to exploring various areas of knowledge on BIM and allowing maximum access to different individuals spread across Africa. Leveraging on the potentials of video communication technologies, industry experts are invited to present to our community and members across Africa to enable continuous knowledge improvement.
In collaboration with Oracle Construction and Engineering, the January BIMTalk was facilitated by Werner Maritz and Patrick Kimwaki focusing on Introducing Oracle Aconex: A Common Data Environment (CDE) aligned with the requirements of ISO19650.

From 5th to 30th of October 2020, we hosted the BIMHarambee.Africa in conjunction with BIMCommUNITY.Africa. BIMHarambee.Africa became Africa’s longest virtual BIM conference featuring 42 Presentations and Case Studies, 6 Learning sessions, 5 Panel discussions, 6 Discussion Forums, 58 Speakers, 2881 Registrations, 3300 Views, and 436 hours watched.
