African cities become the new home to over 40,000 people every day, many of whom find themselves without a roof over their heads. With the rapid population growth, there is a need for fast-paced development of housing infrastructures to accommodate the population.
In achieving this objective, what roles can Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Offsite Construction Methodology play? In this #BIMTalk, Dr. Shaba Kolo will be examining the roles that BIM and offsite construction play in the delivery of housing in cities across Africa.
Dr. Shaba Kolo is a Lecturer in Construction Management at Solent University, Southampton, United Kingdom. He is an Incorporated Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (ICIOB) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority (FHEA). He is also an published researcher on offsite maufacturing in housing delivery
This is a part of the BIM Africa BIMTalk (September Edition), a periodic learning-based virtual program.
