As part of its mandate to ensure a pan-African digital built environment, BIM Africa facilitated the participation of individuals from Nigeria and Ghana as the Country Editorial Team for the open source BIM Dictionary Project by the BIMe Initiative supported by ChangeAgents AEC in Melbourne, Australia.
The BIM Dictionary Projects is an Open Source project that aims to provide a reliable resource for establishing a common understanding of frequently used terms across the Design, Construction and Operation (DCO) sectors. The BIM Dictionary connects hundreds of terms to their vetted descriptions and translations, and act as a peer-reviewed reference to online guides and tools.
The BIM Dictionary includes hundreds of Dictionary Items composed of terms, descriptions, synonyms and abbreviations. Many of these terms will be translated into other languages through the efforts of international volunteers
