To expand footprints across Africa, BIM Africa signed a strategic partnership with Nziza Training Academy domiciled in Rwanda and Chorus Architecture in Cameroon.
Nziza Training Academy (NTA) is a professional training and skills development institution in Rwanda for engineers, architects and project managers. It intends to help people to attain market-based experience to overcome the challenges of the out-college industry in most technological courses.
Alexandre Nzirorera, CEO & School Director, explained that the role of the academy is to enhance industry-based competency of local professionals. These include training on CAD software and experts seminars bringing foreign experts to improve the trained professionals in various fields. Till date, the Academy has graduated close to 100 professionals leveraging on partnerships with bodies like the Rwanda Development Board (RDB).
Chorus Architecture (CA) is a multidisciplinary group working in the fields of architecture, design, planning, education, health and research in Cameroon. Aiming to reinvent resilient local models, the practice is founded and led by Cédrix and Christolle Tsambang .
CA envisions a post-carbon world of smarter and low-cost construction and self-management environment. Alongside other partners, the firm hosts the annual Archi Talk in Cameroon. The event brings together professionals involved in design, architecture and sustainable development.
The strategic partnership with BIM Africa is aimed at creating a framework for strategic cooperation. This will enable each group to benefit from the common activities in their respective strategies.
Amongst other expectations, the partnership is towards raising awareness about the importance and deployment of BIM in construction. Including also and infrastructure projects and to establish networks in Rwanda, Cameroon and Central Africa.
